I am a jeweller-sculptor, so I use different kinds of modelling waxes in my work. I love to create pieces with ethically sourced precious metals such as gold, silver and palladium as well as reclaimed bronze and brass. My favorite gems are opal, turquoise and emerald but I also need humble materials like textiles, wood, paper, concrete and rocks of all varieties to maintain “divine equilibrium” in my hands.
Sometimes my atelier is a very quiet space where mantra chants embrace me, other times Nina Simone, The Smiths, Beethoven and La Xochipitzahuatl pamper my days.
I love to buy tools at The Trocadero but some of my favorites were gifts from my friends.
My work bench imparts a sense of belonging. Here I make the most important choices and decisions and develop new ideas.
I cherish my tools and equipment… without them I would not be able to transform my ideas into unique pieces of art. My most valuable “devices” however, are my uninhibited hands, the transgressive wax and above all the divine intention that nurtures my soul.
